Watch Digger IMAX | Henderson & Las Vegas Movie Meetup

Date:   October 4, 2026   |   Start:   3:20 pm   |   Finish:   5:40 pm

Location:   Brenden Theatres and IMAX at the Palms

We’re getting together to watch *Digger*, followed by a casual group discussion about the film. Come and join us.

Digger has been shot on 8 perf 35mm VistaVision, so let’s go watch it at the only full height IMAX screen in Las Vegas with 1.43:1 aspect ratio, which displays the biggest image available for VistaVision.
This is going to be an interesting, art-style film for serious movie fans, rather than casual viewers seeking typical mainstream blockbusters. (Similar to The Bride earlier this year.)

We will be at the 3.20pm showing on Sunday at Brenden Theatres @Palms Casino – so, RSVP/send a message if you’d like to meet up.
This is on a large IMAX screen and also has comfy recliners.

We will be seated in and around seats B9-B11.

Recommended you get your tickets here in advance or at the cinema (they may sell out) >

Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s highly anticipated dark comedy, Digger. This cinematic event features a jaw-dropping, entirely unrecognizable physical transformation from Hollywood icon Tom Cruise as an eccentric, crass billionaire oil tycoon navigating a satirical environmental crisis.

Shot beautifully on 35mm VistaVision film by multi-Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, the footage promises a wild, chaotic “comedy of catastrophic proportions” that marks a legendary character departure for Cruise.

Backed by an absolute powerhouse of a political ensemble cast – Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Robert John Burke, Emma D’Arcy, Burn Gorman, and Sophie Wilde – the new trailer sets up a razor-sharp countdown clock as Cruise’s character is ordered by the U.S. President to clean up his own planet-threatening mess.

“A very mixed bag. You’ll get what it’s saying, and the concept is interesting, but it doesn’t trust the audience enough not to hold its hand. Riz Ahmed is great. The Cruise performance is solid. Hard to do satire when the absurdity is so prominent in reality.” – KristenKLopez

“A brave and gorgeous art film that will not score with mainstream audiences but will play best for the Academy, especially crafts and actors.” – Anne Thompson, IndieWire

“Not only showcases Tom Cruise’s best performance since ‘Magnolia,’ it’s one of the most visually inventive, conceptually audacious, and unpredictable studio movies ever made.” – Jim Hemphill, IndieWire

“My favorite film of ‘26 – I avoided spoilers, so the surprises had an incredible impact.  A bit Kubrick, a bit Black Mirror but also feels original — a surreal, weird, funny study on (human) nature and storytelling. Tom Cruise’s performance ranks among his career best.” – Jake Hamilton
